The Kozhikode City police have registered a case against Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State committee member M.K. Nikesh Kumar for allegedly making threatening remarks against District Police Chief (Kozhikode City) A.P. Shoukath Ali during a protest here on Friday (October 2, 2026).

The case was registered by the Town police based on remarks allegedly made by Mr. Nikesh Kumar while addressing a march organised by the DYFI district committee to Kozhikode railway station in protest against alleged police excesses in Delhi.

According to the police, the DYFI leader made remarks threatening to assault police personnel and warning that the Commissioner would not be allowed to remain at the protest venue. He also allegedly said that the DYFI could “deal with” any police officer, irrespective of who was appointed District Police Chief.
