DYFI alleges backdoor appointments at KILA, demands probe

The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will hold a march to the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) on Thursday, protesting what it alleges are widespread “backdoor appointments” at the institution.

In a statement, DYFI Thrissur district secretary K.S. Rosselraj and president P.H. Niyas alleged that several appointments had been made at KILA during the past four months without following prescribed recruitment procedures.

The organisation cited the appointments of MSF State treasurer Mohammed Rashid (Rashid Kokkoor), as a coordinator at KILA headquarters and MSF Thrissur district president Shafeekh T.K. as coordinator/IT support (technical expert). Both posts, it alleged, carry a monthly remuneration of ₹25,000.

DYFI alleged that the appointments were made without public notifications, written examinations or interviews. It further alleged that lists of candidates were being forwarded from the Minister’s Office for appointments to various positions, including the helpdesk.
