DVAC seizes about ₹36,000 from three check-posts in Theni district
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized unaccounted cash from three check-posts in Theni district following bribery allegations. Officials are recommending departmental action against seven personnel found to be negligent.

As part surprise checks conducted across several border districts of Tamil Nadu, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police seized ₹35,750 from Kumily, Mundal and Bodimettu check-posts in Theni district on Friday.
Following complaints of demand for bribe from motorists at inter-state borders, the DVAC officials conducted the checks at the check-posts.
The DVAC sleuths, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Nagaraj, conducted the checks after several vehicles passed through the check-posts. Following the seizure of the ‘unaccounted cash’, the police personnel on duty at the check-posts were given time to submit their explanation for the possession of the cash.
The officials said seven personnel in the three check-posts were found to be “negligent”. The DVAC would write to the government recommending departmental action against them.
