DVAC seizes ₹1.72 lakh in unaccounted cash during raid at Mandapam panchayat union office

Unaccounted money amounting to ₹1.72 lakh was seized during a raid conducted by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials at the Mandapam Panchayat Union office. Additionally, an inquiry is under way regarding transactions worth ₹33 lakh conducted through the bank accounts of the officials.
Following the unannounced State-wide raids, DVAC police carried out a raid at the Mandapam Panchayat Union office 3 p.m. to 10 p.m, on Thursday.
During the operation, they questioned the officials and contractors present regarding money and financial transactions.
From this, a total of ₹1.72 lakh in unaccounted cash was seized: ₹38,500 from Block Development Officer (Panchayats) Anbu Kannan, ₹5,000 from Zonal Deputy Block Development Officer Muniraj, ₹90,000 from contractor Udayakumar, ₹33,500 from Ravindran, and ₹5,000 from Nallusamy.
