DVAC officials arrest Paramakudi RDO, driver for taking bribe

Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials on Saturday arrested Paramakudi Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) and his driver for demanding and taking bribe for removing alluvial soil from a water body.
Officials said Paramakudi RDO Saravana Perumal demanded ₹50,000 from a brick kiln owner to grant permission to extract alluvial oil from a water body. The owner unwilling to pay the bribe informed DVAC officials and registered a complaint.
