Duterte defense asks ICC to cut massive evidence record ahead of trial

Duterte's defense team has asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to order prosecutors to reduce and reorganize the massive evidence record ahead of the former president's trial.

The defense said the prosecution's disclosures have grown to 62,130 items, including more than 320,000 pages, making adequate trial preparation impossible in the time available.

The defense proposed creating a new case record of no more than 10,000 properly reviewed and relevant items while keeping the Nov. 30 trial start date.
