It wasn’t easy leaving Ann Arbor, but the Mavericks, which has a new owner in Patrick Dumont and fresh leadership at the top with president Masai Ujiri and general manager Mike Schmitz , along with star players in Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg , made it too good of an opportunity, in May’s mind, to turn down.
