After starring in commercials and publicly representing the company during appearances, the former UFC interim lightweight champion revealed that Bud Light cut ties with him as soon as he was arrested on public drunkenness charges. There was already speculation that Bud Light was no longer in business with Poirier after he starred in a commercial alongside UFC announcer Bruce Buffer that was heavily edited to remove the Louisiana native when the advertisement was shown during recent broadcasts.
Poirier says just after his arrest and release on bond, Bud Light already pulled the trigger to sever ties with him.
“They terminated my contract immediately,” Poirier told Yahoo Sports.
