Driver’s daughter becomes first MBBS student of Alva’s medical college
Sneha, a student from a modest background, has become the first MBBS student at the newly opened Alva’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre. Her admission was supported by a merit adoption scheme, fulfilling her father's dream of her becoming a doctor.

Sneha, a student of Alva’s Pre-University College in Moodbidri, has become the first student to be admitted to the newly opened Alva’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (AIMSRC), securing an MBBS seat under the government quota.
A resident of Kuntalpady in Karkala, she comes from a financially modest family and pursued her pre-university education under Alva’s merit adoption scheme. She scored 506 out of 720 in NEET. Earlier, she completed her SSLC at JC’s High School with 590 marks.
Her father, Manjunath, has been working as a driver at Srinivas University, Mangaluru, for the past 12 years, while her mother, Vanaja, is a homemaker.
Sneha said becoming a doctor had been her father’s dream and that the academic support and training she received at Alva’s helped her prepare for NEET.
