The United Nations reports that 18.5 million people in the Democratic Republic of Congo require humanitarian aid, but funding remains significantly short of the $2.13 billion goal. An estimated 18.5 million people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are in need of humanitarian assistance , while the response has received about Ksh125 billion against an initial funding requirement of approximately Ksh266.3 billion by the end of July, according to the latest United Nations humanitarian data.

That leaves a difference of about Ksh141.3 billion between the initial requirement and funding received.
