Dravidian Cricket League-2026 launched in Kuppam

Dravidian University has launched the 2026 Dravidian Cricket League to encourage student participation in sports and promote physical fitness. The 10-day tournament features 10 teams composed of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dravidian University Vice-Chancellor L.C. Mallaiah inaugurated the 10-day Dravidian Cricket League-2026 at the Indira Gandhi Open Air Stadium on the campus here on Monday. The Vice-Chancellor also joined the students in a friendly cricket match as part of the league’s inauguration. The league aims to promote sportsmanship and student participation in competitive games.
Addressing the students and faculty, Mr. Mallaiah said that regular participation in sports improves physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline and leadership qualities, while also preparing students for higher-level competitions. He urged the participants to excel both in the university and in inter-university tournaments.
