Pudukkottai District Collector M. Aruna garlanded the statue of Muthulakshmi Reddy, medical practitioner and social reformer, at the Government Medical College and Hospital here, ahead of programmes to observe her birth anniversary on Thursday. Following this, the collector also distributed sweets to the medical staff and workers.
Ms. Aruna said that Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy was a role model in promoting empowerment of women through education, political participation, and social reform in Tamil Nadu.
