Dr Makhdoom Syed Hussain’s Work in Medicine and Student Leadership

Dr Makhdoom Syed Hussain has pursued medicine while also taking on roles in student organisations and youth groups.

Dr Makhdoom Syed Hussain, from Pakistan, studied General Medicine at the International Medical University (IMU) in Kyrgyzstan.

His time at IMU included several positions in the university's student body. In February 2025, the university announced that Dr Makhdoom Syed Hussain had been elected president of the Student Senate for the 2024-25 academic year.

According to IMU, he had previously served as vice president of the student body in 2023 and had worked in the student senate's public relations department since 2022. At the time of his election as president, he was in the final year of his General Medicine programme.
