DP World extends Luanda terminal concession to 2051

DP World has extended its concession for the Port of Luanda terminal in Angola until 2051. The company plans a $90 million investment to expand the terminal's area and capacity to handle larger vessels and increase throughput.

DP World has secured a 10-year extension to its concession for the multi-purpose terminal at the Port of Luanda in Angola, allowing the company to operate the facility through to 2051.Over the next two years, DP Wold will invest an additional US$90 million into the terminal to strengthen infrastructure, upgrade equipment, and improve operations.The expansion will increase the terminal’s area from 27 to 37 hectares and raise annual design capacity from 500,000 to 1.2 million TEUs. The quay will meanwhile be lengthened from 610 to 830 metres.DP World plans to acquire three ship-to-shore cranes and 12 semi-automated rubber-tyred gantry cranes as part of the programme.
