Doorstep delivery of ration commodities on October 3 and 5 under ‘Thayumanavar’ scheme in Coimbatore

Coimbatore district administration will distribute Public Distribution System commodities to senior citizens and the differently abled at their door steps on October 3 and 5 under the ‘Thayumanavar’ scheme.
According to a press release issued by the Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Coimbatore Circle, PDS salespersons will visit the homes of eligible beneficiaries on the two days and distribute their ration commodities.
The scheme is aimed particularly at senior citizens aged above 65 and those with disabilities who have difficulty visiting ration shops. The service is expected to benefit around 1.5 lakh people in the district.
