Door-to-door leprosy survey from September 11
District authorities in India have announced a fortnight-long door-to-door leprosy detection survey starting September 11. The initiative aims to identify cases early and provide free multidrug therapy to prevent long-term disability.

District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Tuesday unveiled posters and banners for a door-to-door leprosy detection survey to be conducted across the district from September 11 to 24. The fortnight-long survey aims to detect leprosy in its early stage and provide timely treatment to prevent disability.
Mr. Kishore urged people to cooperate with the survey teams and report any suspicious skin patches that have lost sensation for examination. ASHA workers and selected male health workers will form teams and visit every household to screen family members.
