The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has appealed for calm and an end to speculation following the death of a student found in her room. Police are investigating the case as a suspected murder after a post-mortem revealed multiple internal injuries and signs of oxygen deprivation.

In a statement on Monday, the college said it was deeply saddened by the death of Ann Adhiambo Odhiambo, a Higher Diploma student in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Anaesthesia), who was found dead in her room on July 7.
"The passing has deeply saddened the college community, and our thoughts and prayers remain with her family, friends, fellow students and lecturers during this difficult time," KMTC said.
The institution said it immediately notified security agencies after the incident and has been cooperating fully with investigators by providing all the information and support required.
KMTC said a post-mortem examination was conducted on July 10 and the findings shared with the family. It added that it would continue supporting investigators until the inquiry is concluded.
