Dom Hyam: Wrexham defender's Scotland disappointment

Dom Hyam hopes he can work his way back into the Scotland set-up in future amid his disappointment at being omitted from new boss Sebastien Pocognoli's first international squad.

Belgian Pocognoli, 39, signed a two-year contract with Scotland in August following the departure of Steve Clarke after the 2026 World Cup.

Hyam was included in Clarke's squad for the summer showpiece, although he was an unused substitute for the Scots' group stage matches against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.

The Wrexham defender was left out of Pocognoli's 28-man squad for Scotland's opening block of Nations League fixtures - which include a double header with Slovenia along with matches against Switzerland and North Macedonia.
