DOJ says Hamas crypto seizures reached $560,000 as FBI took over fundraising sites
The U.S. Department of Justice has seized $560,000 in cryptocurrency linked to Hamas fundraising efforts. The FBI also dismantled websites and servers used by the group to solicit donations, gaining intelligence on thousands of potential donors.

This operation demonstrates the increasing capability of federal authorities to track and disrupt illicit crypto-financing networks used by designated terrorist organizations.
The department released five affidavits with the announcement on Wednesday. Three, dated March 25, June 25 and Oct. 10, 2025, cover the crypto warrants accounting for the $560,000.
Two others, dated July 29 and Aug. 18, 2026, cover the infrastructure seizures.
Investigators used human sources to identify and trace rotating crypto addresses promoted through an encrypted group chat and fundraising website, according to court documents.
The first of those actions recovered about $201,400 from wallets and accounts linked to a system that had moved more than $1.5 million since October 2024, the department said at the time . The addresses were allegedly controlled on behalf of Hamas’ military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.
The FBI also seized domains and servers used to operate the group’s main website Alqassam.ps, allowing investigators to intercept further crypto donations.
