The Department of Energy (DOE) officially launched the Sixth Round of the Green Energy Auction (GEA-6) focusing on biomass power development. Under the DOE’s terms of reference for the biomass-focused auction, the bidding is scheduled for January 2027, with developer registration opening this October. According to the DOE, THE GEA-6 aims to award 160 megawatts of total biomass capacity.
