The police have launched an investigation after a 59-year-old man was found murdered in his residence at Singanallur in Coimbatore. The deceased has been identified as Velusamy, a resident of Devendra Street near Aravan Temple.
The police said that Velusamy, who had been working as a document writer, lived alone after getting separated from his wife.
According to the police, Velusamy’s elder sister, who lives in the same locality, found him murdered inside the house around 9 p.m. on Tuesday (August 18, 2026). The woman went to the house and checked on him after finding the front door of the house remaining slightly open. She found Velusamy with multiple injuries, the police said.
