Doctors’ body urges Telangana government to expedite DSH setup, clear pending promotions

The Telangana Government Doctors Association is calling on the state government to finalize the administrative structure of the Directorate of Secondary Health. They are also urging officials to resolve long-pending promotions and service-related issues for medical staff.
Why it matters
Administrative efficiency in healthcare departments is critical for maintaining service delivery and staff morale in public health systems.
The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) urged the State government to expedite the completion of the administrative structure of the Directorate of Secondary Health (DSH) and clear long-pending service matters of doctors.
In a statement issued on Saturday (August 29), the association said the government had established the DSH as a Head of Department (HoD) following the implementation of the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) Repeal Act. Financial powers were subsequently delegated to the Directorate through G.O.Ms.No.72 of the Finance (TFR) Department, dated June 18.
Against this backdrop, the TGGDA appealed to the government to make the DSH fully operational by completing its administrative framework and ensuring the early disposal of pending service-related matters.
