Dharwad: A 45-year-old doctor was stabbed to death at his residence in Dharwad Wednesday night, while his eight-year-old mentally challenged son was found severely injured.The deceased has been identified as Dr Kiran Honnannanavar, an anaesthesiologist at a private hospital. He was stabbed multiple times at his flat in Ranka Stello Apartment on Karnatak University Road. Police shifted him to a hospital.Dr Kiran lived with his wife, Dr Priyanka Gaddanahalli, an ophthalmologist, and their son Nihit, said police commissioner N Shashikumar. “It is not clear when the murder happened. We found that Nihit was alive in the pool of blood, and we shifted him to the hospital immediately.”He added, “Dr Kiran’s relatives and friends were allegedly calling him on Tuesday night and Wednesday, and Dr Priya answered those calls, saying he was busy or that he had gone to the hospital.
