Do Ghana takes tourism on road to Ghana@70

Ghana has launched a domestic tourism initiative called 'Do Ghana 7ty' to celebrate the nation's upcoming 70th Independence anniversary in 2027. The program encourages citizens and visitors to explore the country's history and culture through curated road trips and storytelling events.
Why it matters
This initiative aims to boost the local tourism economy and foster national pride leading up to a major historical milestone for the country.
As Ghana prepares to mark its 70th Independence anniversary in 2027, a new private-sector-led domestic tourism initiative, Do Ghana 7ty, is set to take Ghanaians on a journey across the country to explore its history, culture, food, landscapes and people.
The programme, dubbed ODUM: The Story of Ghana, will officially begin on World Tourism Day, Sunday, September 27, with The Great Ghana Day Out, an invitation for Ghanaians and visitors to go somewhere in the country, experience it and share their stories.
Do Ghana, the WangoWango domestic tourism movement, is leading the initiative in collaboration with Joy FM and Joy Prime.
The programme is designed to run through Ghana's 70th Independence anniversary in 2027, with a series of journeys, cultural experiences and storytelling activities under the Do Ghana 7ty banner.
