DMK, TVK cadres stage protest in Madurai

Hundreds of DMK cadres were arrested in Madurai following protests against the arrest of Udhayanidhi Stalin. Simultaneously, TVK supporters held counter-demonstrations to justify the police action against the opposition leader.

Hundreds of DMK cadres were arrested in different parts of Madurai district after they staged protests against the arrest of Leader of Opposition, Udhayanidhi Stalin, in connection with a case for allegedly making derogatory remarks, on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the ruling TVK cadres too staged demonstration condemning Mr.Udhayanidhi.
The DMK cadres prosted in Palanganatham, Othakadi and Tirumangalam. They also police arrested those who blocked the road. This includeded former Minister, P. Moorthy and G. Thalapathi.
The protesters raised slogans against the TVK Government.
Meanwhile, TVK MLAs led their party cadres in protest demonstration in different parts of the city.
