DMK cadre staged a massive protest in front of the Collectorate in Ramanathapuram on Saturday to condemn Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s remarls against party president M.K. Stalin in the Assembly.
Addressing the gathering, party district secretary and MLA Katharbatcha Muthuramalingam criticised the State Cabinet’s response mechanism in the legislature.
He alleged that Ministers failed to address specific departmental grievances raised by MLAs, citing an instance where his queries on fishermen’s issues were deflected instead of being answered by the Minister concerned. Further, during the 29-day Assembly session since the new government took office, Mr. Vijay spoke only four times, strictly relying on prepared scripts.
He also questioned the utility of the Chief Minister’s ongoing industrial tour to London without departmental IAS officers.
Former Minister R.S. Rajakannappan launched an attack on the administration’s political rhetoric and overall governance.
