Cadres of the DMK on Saturday staged a demonstration in Tiruchi protesting against Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s remarks against party president M. K. Stalin in the State Assembly.
Tiruchi West MLA and Deputy Leader of the Opposition K.N. Nehru presided over the protest held at Marakkadai. A large number of cadres from different parts of the district took part in the demonstration. Former Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and Rajya Sabha member Salma participated. The protesters carried placards, highlighting the failures of the TVK government. They raised slogans against Mr. Vijay for denigrating Mr. Stalin’s arrest during Emergency. They raised slogans against the Chief Minister that he had failed to preserve the dignity of the State Assembly.
