DMK names candidates for Madurantakam, Dharapuram bypolls in Tamil Nadu

The DMK on Wednesday (September 9, 2026) announced its candidates for the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
Party legal wing deputy secretary I. Paranthamen has been fielded in Madurantakam, while S. Suganya is the candidate for Dharapuram. Both reserved constituencies fell vacant following the resignation of AIADMK members who later joined the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

“Our leader has faith in me and has fielded me in the election. It is a great recognition. I will win the election and submit the victory to our leader,” Mr. Paranthamen told The Hindu .
