A 158-megabyte library found buried inside NBA 2K27's PC early-access build is now running inside a game it was never designed for - and the performance data it produced is the first real-world look at what DLSS 5 Neural Rendering actually costs on consumer Blackwell hardware.On August 26, Brazilian hardware enthusiast Renan Maniero discovered an unfamiliar file tucked inside the NBA 2K27 NBA 2K27 early-access build: a library named nvngx_dlssnr.dll, identified by Windows as NVIDIA DLSSNR version 310.8.0.0 and dated August 26, 2026. Within roughly twenty-four hours, members of the RenoDX modding community had extracted it, injected it into Remedy Entertainment's 2019 action game Control, and recorded the numbers that RTX 50-series buyers have been waiting for: frame rates on an RTX 5070 Ti at 4K dropped from 71 FPS to 35 FPS with Neural Rendering active on character models alone - a 51% reduction.
