District-level competitions for Nasha Mukt Bharat held

Various district-level competitions under the banner ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Vikasita Bharat’ (Drug-free youth for a developed India) were held at Sri Ramakrishna College here on Monday.
The event was organized jointly by My Bharat Dakshina Kannada, the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Mangalore University, and the Youth Red Cross.
Inaugurating the event, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) H.N. Mithun urged young people to realise the value of life and serve as role models in society by pledging “No to drugs, yes to life”. He later administered the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ pledge to the students. Bunts Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha general secretary M. Karunakar Shetty presided over the programme.
