Disruptions in downtown Charlottetown a result of Netflix production, shops say

Downtown Charlottetown will experience traffic and parking disruptions this Saturday due to the filming of a Netflix series. Local businesses are generally optimistic about the exposure the production will bring to the area.

The city wouldn’t confirm it was for a film production, but many business owners say the producers of a Netflix series being shot on P.E.I. reached out to inform them that access to their shops may be limited while filming is happening. "Temporary pedestrian restrictions, parking restrictions, and traffic disruptions will be in effect intermittently on select streets in downtown Charlottetown beginning at 4 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, to accommodate permitted activity requiring the temporary use of public streets and spaces," the City of Charlottetown said in a news release.
The disruptions are expected to end by 8 p.m.
