Train Nos. 56827 (Thiruvarur–Karaikudi) and 56828 (Karaikudi–Thiruvarur) remain halted at Karaikudi for more than six hours. The Railway authorities could consider extending their services to Rameswaram during this period. Such an extension would provide a useful rail link and benefit passengers travelling between the delta region and Rameswaram.
Ramanathapuram town faces severe traffic congestion during peak hours on working days and on important occasions. Automatic traffic signals are urgently needed at busy junctions such as Kenikkarai, Murugan Koil, D-Block bus stop, Kumaraiah Koil and the ECR junction.
The District Administration should take steps to install signals at these locations to regulate traffic, prevent accidents and ensure smoother movement.
