Department of Microbiology of Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women organised a leprosy awareness programme under the DBT STAR College Scheme, in association with the Department of Biotechnology. Vice-principal (Administration) B. Seeni Rahfu Nisha inaugurated. Vice-principal (Academic Affairs) and Head of Microbiology O.S. Aysha convened the programme in the presence of Head of Biotechnology, R&D Head and DBT Internal Coordinator H. Noorul Samsoon Maharifa. M. Karthikeyan, R. Saravanan, S. R. Murugesan and P. Gopi from the Office of the Deputy Director of Health Services (Leprosy), Ramanathapuram, spoke on the causes, transmission, symptoms, treatment and prevention of leprosy. Students from various departments participated.
