Digital Education Reforms ‘ll Tackle Certificate Racketeering
Nigeria's Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced digital reforms aimed at curbing certificate racketeering and improving the integrity of academic qualifications. The initiative involves integrating data systems between the Ministry of Education and the National Youth Service Corps.

By Jumoke Olaitan The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, says the digital transformation of Nigeria’s education system is strengthening the integrity of academic qualifications and tackling certificate racketeering.
Alausa disclosed this in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr Ikharo Attah, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The minister was speaking during a meeting with the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, who led a delegation of the Corps to the Ministry.
He said the reforms would also ensure that genuine students and graduates were not disadvantaged in accessing national service and employment opportunities.
According to him, the digital reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are designed to close gaps in the management and verification of educational records.
