Differently abled persons in Erode seek ₹6,000 monthly assistance
Members of the Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers protested in Erode to demand an increase in monthly government assistance to ₹6,000. Urging the State government to increase the monthly assistance to ₹6,000, members of the Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers (TARATDAC) staged a protest on the Collectorate premises here on Monday.
At present, persons with 40% disability are provided ₹1,500 a month, while those with 60% disability receive ₹2,000. The protesters said the assistance was inadequate to meet their basic needs.
