‘Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is a milestone, but not the end’: Protesters vow to continue until all demands are met

“The resignation is a victory for the student-youth movement. But, the movement must continue till all our demands are met,” the Hyderabad-based Disha Students’ Organisation said on Saturday, as political representatives, student organisations and civil society groups welcomed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation while asserting that their agitation was far from over.

While describing the Minister’s resignation as a victory for the nationwide student movement, organisations said the protests would continue until their remaining demands are addressed, including the withdrawal of criminal cases against protesters, action against police personnel accused of using excessive force during the July 20 crackdown at Jantar Mantar, and compensation for the families of students, who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak.
