A complainant in the Dharmasthala case has accused fellow accused individuals of harassment to force him to withdraw a legal petition. Meanwhile, the BJP has called for a CBI investigation into the matter to uncover the truth behind the allegations.
Why it matters
The case involves complex legal and political tensions regarding allegations of false complaints and potential witness intimidation.
C.N. Chinna, (Chinnaiah), who has been accused of filing a false complaint of mass burial of bodies in Dharmasthala village, has filed a complaint before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) accusing four fellow accused in the Dharmasthala case of harassing him and his family members. In addition to Chinna, activists Mahesh Shetty Thimarody, Girish Mattannavar, Jayant, and Sujatha Bhat are other accused in the Dharmasthala case.
The report presents the complainant's allegations and the BJP's political demand neutrally without endorsing either.
