‘Dharma Rakshana Yagnam’ in Tirupati from August 8

A 'Dharma Rakshana Yagnam' ritual is scheduled to begin on August 8 at Sri Shakti Peetham in Tirupati. The event aims to promote global righteousness and social harmony, allowing public participation in traditional offerings.
Why it matters
It highlights the ongoing cultural and religious activities in India centered around the preservation of Sanatana Dharma.
A ‘Dharma Rakshana Yagnam’ will be conducted at Sri Shakti Peetham on Rayalacheruvu Road in Tirupati from August 8 as a measure to restore Dharma (righteousness) across the globe.
The event will be conducted with the blessings of founder pontiff Sri Siddheswarananda Bharathi Mahaswamiji, and under the guidance of the chief pontiff Sri Ramyananda Bharathi Swamini.
After the formal launch, a ‘Praja Homam’ will be performed daily in two sessions, between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., and 4.30 p.m. and 6 p.m., in which the public are allowed.
Unlike a conventional ‘Homam’, this ritual allows every devotee to personally offer ‘Homa Dravyam’ (divine offerings) into the pyre, under the guidance of qualified Vedic Acharyas.
