Dharapuram (SC) byelection | Senior citizens, persons with disabilities cast postal ballots
Election officials in Dharapuram, India, facilitated postal voting for senior citizens and persons with disabilities for the upcoming byelection. Teams were deployed to residences to ensure these voters could cast their ballots using Form 12D.

Casting of postal ballots by senior citizens aged 85 years and above, and by people with over 40% disability, from their homes, was carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday for the byelection to Dharapuram (SC) Assembly Constituency
District Election Officer and District Collector Manish Narnaware inspected the voting process at a residence in Ward 6 of Dharapuram Municipality, to determine compliance with the directive of Election Commission of India, for the two categories of voters.
Of the 1,236 voters in these categories, 992 constituted senior citizens, and the remaining 244 voters were persons with the specified extent of disabilities.
Their votes cast through Form 12D were accepted by the Returning Officer.
