Dhai Akhar letter writing campaign on protecting mother earth
The Department of Posts has launched the 'Dhai Akhar' letter writing campaign, inviting citizens to write about protecting nature. The competition is open until October 31, with cash prizes for the best entries in different age categories.

The Department of Posts has invited entries for a national-level ‘Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Campaign 2026-27’ on the theme “A Letter to Mother Earth: My Promise to Protect Nature.”
According to a press release from K. Gopalan, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Erode Division, the campaign began on August 1 and will conclude on October 31. Letters posted after the deadline will not be accepted. The letters can be written in English, Hindi or Tamil and should be addressed to the Chief Postmaster General, Tamil Nadu Circle, Chennai – 600002.
Only handwritten letters will be accepted. Letters written on plain A4-size paper should not exceed 1,000 words, while those written on an Inland Letter Card (ILC) should be limited to 500 words. Entries on plain paper should be sent in an embossed envelope or an envelope bearing sufficient postage.
