DGP lays foundation stone for ‘Vihara’, ‘Vihari’ and Central police canteen at Mangalagiri
Andhra Pradesh DGP Harish Kumar Gupta laid the foundation stone for new transit accommodations and a canteen for police personnel in Mangalagiri. The project aims to improve the welfare and living conditions of officers visiting the state headquarters.

Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta on Friday (August 28, 2026) laid the foundation stone for construction of Vihara (men’s transit accommodation), Vihari (women’s transit accommodation) and Central Police Canteen at APSP 6th Battalion at Mangalagiri.
Vihara and Vihari will provide accommodation to 120 men and 120 women police personnel, who visit the AP Police Headquarters. The Integrated Central Police Canteen is intended to provide better canteen facilities to the police, the DGP said.
Mr. Harish Kumar Gupta said the welfare and well-being of police personnel remains a top priority for the Andhra Pradesh Police.
