<p>The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday described the statement issued by some members of the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar (SAC-M) on July 18 as "malicious and misleading," following an informal meeting of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers with Myanmar.</p><p>The Philippines is serving as the ASEAN Chair this year, with Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro acting as the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar.</p><p>"The Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar regrets the malicious and misleading statement made by some members of the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar (SAC-M) issued on 18 July regarding the ASEAN Chair's current approach towards the situation in Myanmar," the DFA said in a statement released on July 19.</p><p>The SAC-M is an independent organization of experts on the Myanmar situation.</p><p>According to the DFA, the Informal Meeting of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers with Myanmar, held last July 12, resulted from…
