Devotion of Gopikas

Srimad Bhagavatam explores the supreme devotion ( Premai ) of the Gopikas towards Lord Krishna during the Rasa Leela, said Navalpakkam Sri Ramachar in a discourse. On a serene, moonlit autumn night, Lord Krishna decides to engage in divine pastimes with the Gopikas of Vrindavan. To gather them without sending formal messengers, He plays His divine flute ( Venu ). Upon hearing the sweet music, the Gopikas abandon their household chores, families, and sleeping infants, rushing out into the forest in utter haste.

When they arrive, Lord Krishna playfully tests their steadfastness by advising them to return home. He reminds them that fulfilling household duties (dharma) and serving their husband and children are the primary duties of women. They express that their minds have been completely stolen by His flute song, making it impossible for them to return to worldly life.
