KUALA LUMPUR: Four property development companies have filed an application for leave to commence judicial review proceedings to challenge the seizure of 192 parcels of land in Johor under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Amla).
The companies, which are subsidiaries of United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand), must first obtain the court's leave before substantive merits of their application can be heard.
The applicants are Tentu Teguh Sdn Bhd, Viridea Lakeside Sdn Bhd, Exquisite Mode Sdn Bhd, and UMLand Medini Lakeside Development Sdn Bhd.
They named Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar, deputy public prosecutor Wan Ahmad Hakimi Wan Ahmad Jaafar, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail, Bukit Aman's Amla investigation unit chief Fazlisyam Abd Majid, investigating officer Rozimi Mustapha and the government as respondents.
