Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday (July 17, 2026) called out the lack of action on examination paper “leaks” in the country, stating that “not a single person has been punished” so far.
Addressing the second ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ (Voice of Students) rally in Dehradun, Mr. Gandhi said about 7.5 crore students have been affected due to such. 152 cases, but no convictions, he said. He said the country needed to move away from a “government-centric examination system” to a student-centric one that was flexible, secure and insulated from political influence
“1% uses the system and follows path of paper leaks, and hurts 99% others who are honest and poor,” Mr. Gandhi added.
He stated that the event is not a “political meet”, emphasising that the students’ rally is about “the youth, their future, struggles, and difficulties”.
