The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday (September 07) caught a deputy jailor and a petrol bunk operator while allegedly accepting a ₹10,000 bribe at an Indian Oil petrol bunk attached to the Huzurabad Sub-Jail in Karimnagar district.

The accused were identified as 46-year-old deputy jailor at Huzurabad Sub-Jail Nampally Devender and 30-year-old petrol bunk operator at the Indian Oil Sub-Jail petrol bunk Ravula Harish.

According to the ACB, Devender allegedly demanded ₹10,000 from the complainant through Harish in exchange for providing better facilities to the complainant’s father-in-law, who is a remand prisoner, facilitating visits to him and preventing his transfer to Khammam Jail.

The ACB Karimnagar unit caught the two at about 5.45 p.m. on Monday when the alleged bribe was accepted. The tainted cash was recovered from Harish at the instance of the ACB. Both his right and left hand fingers reportedly tested positive during the chemical examination.
