LEGAZPI CITY - The Naga City government on Tuesday (September 8) declared a state of calamity after dengue cases in the city reached 200, including six fatalities.
Most of the cases were recorded in the barangays of Cararayan, Carolina and Concepcion Peque a.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the declaration following a recommendation from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council amid the continuing rise in dengue cases.
Mayor Leni Robredo ordered the intensification of cleanup and search-and-destroy operations, particularly in areas identified as potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes, as part of efforts to contain the outbreak.
