HYDERABAD: The case against trainee IPS officer accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a fellow probationer at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) intensified on Wednesday, with police adding rape and attempt-to-murder charges. He was earlier arrested and sent to 14-day judicial remand.The arrest comes 11 days after a 30-year-old woman IPS trainee lodged a complaint accusing the 33-year-old officer of sexual misconduct, threatening her with a knife and violating privacy.Based on the complainant’s statement, Attapur police added charges under sections 64(1) (rape) and 109 (attempt to murder), read with section 63(b)(iii), to the case.
