Delhi SIR: AAP criticises EC over 1.67 lakh deletions in Burari, seeks details

A day after the draft electoral rolls for Delhi were published following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday attacked the Election Commission of India (ECI) for deleting around 1.67 lakh names from the Burari assembly constituency – highest in terms of absolute number of deletions among Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies.
The Opposition party alleged that despite repeated requests, the EC has refused to share the details of the removed names.
According to the official data, Burari has highest number of names deleted in absolute numbers (1,67,885), followed by Okhla (1,63,829), Badarpur (1,46,673) and Vikaspuri (1,46,225). However, Tughlaqabad has the highest percentage of deletions at 47.8.
