Delhi Police head constable, wife found dead in Narela; children find flat locked from inside
A Delhi Police head constable allegedly strangled his wife before ending his life at their second-floor flat in Narela on Saturday (September 19, 2026), police said. The couple were found dead in the same room.
The deceased were identified as Head Constable Monu, 40, who was posted in North district, and his wife Meenu, 35.
Outer North DCP Shobhit D. Saxena said the couple’s children returned from school and found the flat locked from inside. When there was no response despite multiple knocks, they informed the police. A PCR call was received around 1 p.m.
Police reached the spot and, with the assistance of the fire brigade, gained entry into the flat. “Preliminary investigation suggests that the head constable first strangulated his wife and then hanged himself,” Mr. Saxena said.
No suicide note was found at the spot, the DCP said.
